Emergency Benefit

Dear member,

Ottawa introduces an Emergency Benefit gives $2,000 every month for the next four months for salaried or self-employed workers who are absent from work, have lost contracts or have been laid off because of COVID-19.

A portal will be put online soon, possibly in early April. According to the government, taxpayers will receive the money 10 days after they apply.

The Emergency Benefit is a merger of the Emergency Care Benefit and the Emergency Support Benefit created last week.

The federal emergency plan adopted
In addition, the $82-billion emergency plan announced by the Trudeau government was passed Wednesday morning in the House of Commons in Ottawa. Taxpayers should receive the first unemployment cheques on April 6.
