Functions we represent:

  • Logistic Manager (Unit Manager)

Basic, classification and reclassification criteria for all functions of the department:

**For training courses, which are currently in the process of being created, one year (1 year/365 days) will be granted to each member, starting from the first availability date of the training, to complete the training without losing the title of its function.

  1. Mandatory training courses:
    • WHMIS
    • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED (Level C)
    • MTQ Traffic Control Map (in the process of creation)
    • Handling of fire extinguishers
    • Basic training in electricity (in the process of creation)
    • Respect, civility and prevention of harassment in the workplace
    • Criminal liability for occupational health and safety

Job-specific classification and reclassification criteria:

Logistic Manager (Unit Manager) is said to be the member who:

  • Has at least one hundred and twenty (120) days of work experience as a Logistic Manager (Unit Manager) function, including ninety (90) days on at least two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of thirty (30) days in the role of Logistic Manager (Unit Manager) on AQTIS projects can be accepted.
  • The member must be bilingual.
  • Mandatory training and certification:
    • Propane Handling Training
    • Advanced Electrical Training
    • Health and Safety Training
    • Basic fall protection

Assistant Logistic Manager (Assistant Unit Manager) is said to be the member who:

  • Has at least one hundred and twenty (120) days of work experience as a Assistant Logistic Manager (Assistant Unit Manager) function, including ninety (90) days on at least two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of thirty (30) days in the role of Assistant Logistic Manager (Assistant Unit Manager) on AQTIS projects can be accepted.
  • The member must be bilingual.

    • Propane Handling Training
    • Advanced Electrical Training
    • Health and Safety Training
    • Basic fall protection

Set Production Assistant (Set PA) is said to be the member who:

  • Has at least one hundred and twenty (120) days of work experience as a Set Production Assistant (Set PA) function, including ninety (90) days on at least two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of thirty (30) days in the role of Set Production Assistant (Set PA) on AQTIS projects can be accepted.
  • The member must be bilingual.

Back-Up Set Production Assistant is said to be the member who:

Reports work experience of at least ninety (90) days in the function of Back-Up Set Production Assistant, including forty-five (45) days on at least two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of forty-five (45) days in the function of Back-Up Set Production Assistant on AQTIS projects may be accepted.

Note: As the function is newly recognized, the member who wishes to be recognized in this function must submit to the union one or more letters of reference, signed by a formally recognized member as IATSE Set Production Assistant (Set PA) or a recognized member in the function of Back-Up Set Production Assistant, with a statement of experience and the number of days of shooting for which the candidate was employed as a Production Assistant performing the functions of a Back-Up. The letters must contain the names of the project(s) and the number of shooting days for which the member has worked in the backup function.

Truck Production Assistant (Truck PA) is said to be the member who:

  • Has at least one hundred and twenty (120) days of work experience as a Truck Production Assistant (Truck PA) function, including ninety (90) days on at least two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of thirty (30) days in the role of Truck Production Assistant (Truck PA) on AQTIS projects can be accepted.
  • Mandatory training and certification:
    • Propane Handling Training
    • Advanced Electrical Training (to be created)
    • Booms and lifting platforms
    • Basic Fall Protection
    • Lift Trucks Class I, IV, V (Nacelles)
    • Forklift
    • Telescopic Forklift (Zoomboom)
    • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Back-Up Truck Production Assistant is said to be the member who:

Reports work experience of at least ninety (90) days in the function of Back-Up Truck Production Assistant, including forty-five (45) days on at least two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of forty-five (45) days in the function of Back-Up Truck Production Assistant on AQTIS projects may be accepted.

Note: As the function is newly recognized, the member who wishes to be recognized in this function must submit to the union one or more letters of reference, signed by a formally recognized member as IATSE Truck Production Assistant (Truck PA) or a recognized member in the function of Assistant in charge of IATSE Back-Up Truck Production Assistant, with a statement of experience and the number of days of shooting for which the candidate was employed as a Production Assistant performing the functions of a Back-Up. The letters must contain the names of the project(s) and the number of shooting days for which the member has worked in the backup function.

    • Advanced Electrical Training (to be created)
    • Basic Fall Protection

Specialized Production Assistant (Swing) is said to be the member who:

  • Demonstrates at least ninety (90) days work experience as a Specialized Production Assistant (Swing) on at least two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of thirty (30) days in the function of Specialized Production Assistant (Swing) on AQTIS projects can be accepted.

Note: As the function is newly recognized, the member who wishes to be recognized in this function must submit to the union one or more letters of reference, signed by a formally recognized member as IATSE Specialized Production Assistant (Swing), with a statement of experience and the number of days of shooting for which the candidate was employed as a Production Assistant performing the functions of a Back-Up. The letters must contain the names of the project(s) and the number of shooting days for which the member has worked in the backup function.

  • Mandatory training and certification:

    • Basic Fall Protection

Production Assistant is said to be the member who:

  • Reports work experience of at least ninety (90) days, including forty-five (45) days on two separate IATSE productions. A maximum of thirty (30) days in the function of Production Assistant on AQTIS projects can be accepted.
