The federal government announced today that it will soon expand the eligibility criteria for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB). As a result, the following workers will be eligible for CERB:
- Workers working less than 10 hours a week;
- Students;
- Taxpayers earning less than $2,000 a month;
- Entrepreneurs who paid dividends from small business income.
“There are groups of people who aren’t benefiting from the Canada Emergency Response Benefit who probably should,” Trudeau said.
Details will be announced in the coming days.
