In Canada, the Trudeau government introduced a new bill in November 2017 that would amend the Canada Labour Code and apply to all sectors under federal jurisdiction, such as banking, transportation and telecommunications.
“The bill requires employers to put in place a [harassment] prevention policy; (…) try to resolve the situation and, if that can’t be done, appoint a “competent person” viewed by both parties as neutral to investigate, implement recommendations and offer support to victims.”
