Cyberbullying is harassing a person or saying threatening, hateful, offensive or degrading things about them, be it through images or writing.

When cyberbullying becomes a criminal act

Defamatory libel
Example: using the Internet, such as websites, to make fun of others by telling stories or jokes or posting images

Extorsion
Example: sending threatening email messages to classmates asking them to bring valuable objects to school

Criminal harassment
Example: using the Internet to repeatedly communicate with someone, knowing this person is feeling harassed

Bogus messages
Example: using an electronic messaging system to send false information with the intention of harming someone

Uttering threats
Example: sending threatening emails to someone
