Dear members,
We are pleased to announce that the Quebec Association of Image and Sound Technicians, IATSE Local 514, was officially founded on Thursday October 1st. A request will soon be filed with the Administrative Labor Tribunal (TAT) to have the new organization recognized. AQTIS-IATSE local 514, took advantage of the first meeting of its executive committee, which took place in two parts, on October 1 and 7, to adopt a series of resolutions aimed at getting operational as quickly as possible and ensure a smooth transition.
We took stock of the main issues of our respective organizations, including professional training, workforce development and the integration of our various departments. We have also initiated the discussion on the future of our industry to ensure that job creation is a priority for our members.
COVID-19
Despite the pandemic situation, Quebec production, including advertising, is running at full speed; on the American production side, a feature film and two other American television productions are underway.
We remind you of the importance of scrupulously respecting the rules of sanitary measures and government directives for your own health, that of your loved ones and your co-workers. You will understand that no one wants Public Health to stop production due to an outbreak in our workplaces.
