Standard first aid with CPR/AED (level C)

Description

This comprehensive two-day course offers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). It includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines for babies, children and adults. It meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR.

Please note that this training course is a compulsory requirement for any position at IATSE 514.

Target population

The training is intended for anyone who wants to know the basic techniques of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Goals

Following training, participants will be able to:

  1. RESPOND to an emergency;
  2. CHECK, CALL, CARE;
  3. GIVE first aid in case of:
    • Cardiorespiratory Arrest
    • Head and Spine Injuries
    • Bone, Muscle, and Articulation Injuries
    • Poisoning;
  4. IMPLEMENT CPR to adults, children and babies;
  5. USE a defibrillator (AED).
