Fall protection rescue (advanced level)

Description

This training course allows the student to become familiar with appropriate working at heights rescue procedures. The course emphasizes on learning rescue methods and implementation of safety measures to be deployed. Alternating between theory in a classroom and practical exercises enables the student to understand and master the appropriate maneuvers to deploy in case of emergency.

Target population

The training is primarily intended for regular and casual workers wishing to perform work at heights.

Goals

Following training, participants will be able to:

  1. IMPLEMENT rescue techniques appropriate to the work environment;
  2. USE the equipment and components of a rescue system;
  3. UNDERSTAND how to use anchorage, safety connections and harnesses;
  4. DEVELOP their ability to react appropriately in emergency situations;
  5. EXECUTE a method for carrying out a rescue in complete safety;
  6. SELECT anchorage and rescue systems that are appropriate for the various fall and victim retrieval possibilities.

Prerequisite

Basic Fall Protection Level 1 (training course offered by IATSE 514)

Required equipment

Safety footwear, headgear and eyewear are required for workshop exercises.
