Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Wednesday at his daily media availability at his Rideau Cottage residence that the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) is being expanded. As a result, the following workers will be entitled to CERB:
- Unemployed seasonal workers;
- Unemployed without benefits since January 1st;
- Workers earning less than $1000/month;
- Artists who no longer have to factor copyright into their income.
Additional assistance for college and university students and merchants who are having trouble paying their rent will be announced soon, Trudeau said.
