Netflix Emergency Fund

Dear member,

Netflix last week pledged $500,000 to the Artists’ Foundation (FDA) to support artists struggling with severe financial hardship due to the coronavirus.

The FDA is currently working to create an emergency fund to assist the most needy artists affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

IATSE 514 members can fill out the following form (in french only) if you meet one of the Netflix Emergency Fund eligibility criteria below:

  • Be a professional artist with self-employed status;
  • Be an artist who has lost or postponed contracts due to COVID-19;
  • Be an artist with REAL FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES and unable to meet basic needs (e.g. rent, groceries, health care).

Individuals who are eligible for regular Employment Insurance (Unemployment Insurance) benefits are not eligible for the Netflix Emergency Fund.

The Artists’ Foundation will begin processing applications on MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2020. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING BEFORE THIS DATE. If all goes according to plan, funding payments could begin as of APRIL 1st, 2020.
