Masks mandatory from July 18 in closed public places

Dear member,

The wearing of masks will be mandatory in closed public places throughout Quebec as of Saturday, July 18, Quebec Premier François Legault announced today.

A merchant who allows a consumer to enter his establishment without a mask is liable to a fine of $400 to $6,000. Fines could be distributed to individuals after August 1st.

Public Transit

Remember that it is mandatory to wear a mask in public transit vehicles everywhere in Quebec, starting today.

Wearing a mask is not mandatory for children aged 2 to 12, but is strongly encouraged.

There will be a two-week grace period. However, as of July 27, anyone without a face covering will be denied access to a bus, metro or taxi.

With solidarity,
