Functions we represent:

Basic, classification and reclassification criteria for all functions of the department:

  1. Every candidate must submit a resume relevant to the prerequisites mentioned below.
  2. Indicate only the projects for which you are credited.
  3. Your resume can include movies, TV series, commercials, music videos or any other type of productions.
  4. Mandatory training and certifications:
      • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED (Level C)
      • WHMIS 2015
      • Criminal liability for occupational health and safety
      • Respect, civility and prevention of harassment in the workplace (QUEBEC)
      • Obligations of Heavy Vehicle Users (OHVU)
      • Managing OODHV Act
      • Hazardous materials transportation (HMT)
  5. For each function aforementioned, a documented work equivalence will be analyzed and considered, and subject to approval by the membership committee. Also, skills for which the candidate submits a certification will be considered. Likewise, technical skills that can be validated by a diploma, a portfolio or any other kind of proof of qualification will be considered.
  6. All candidates must obtain a class 4B licence.
  7. Each member of the Transportation department, whatever his/her function, must obtain his/her class 4B licence before December 2015, and update and, maintain up-to-date, the three required training courses.

Classification and reclassification criteria for each function:

Transportation Coordinator refers to the members who:
1- Hold a Transportation Captain position.
2- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 200 days, including a minimum of 120 days on more than one IATSE 514 production as a Transportation Coordinator
3- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
4- Has completed a training course on managing the Act Respecting Owners, Operators and Drivers of Heavy Vehicles (430).
5- Every member must have completed all the training courses required.

Transportation Captain refers to the members who:
1- Hold a Driver position and has cumulated a work experience of 120 days at this position, including a minimum of 60 days on an IATSE 514 production.
2- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 180 days, including a minimum of 120 dayson more than one IATSE 514 production as a Transportation Captain.
3- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
4- Has completed a training course on managing the Act Respecting Owners, Operators and Drivers of Heavy Vehicles (430).
5- Every member must have completed all the training courses required.

Assistant Transportation Captain refers to the members who:
1- Hold a Driver position.
2- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 90 days on more than one IATSE 514 production as an Assistant Transportation Captain.
3- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
4- Has completed a training course on managing the Act Respecting Owners, Operators and Drivers of Heavy Vehicles (430).
5- Every member must have completed all the training courses required.

Specialized Driver refers to the member who:
1- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 90 days on more than one IATSE 514 production as a Specialized Driver.
2- Owns at least a Class 3 licence with F and M endorsements.
3- Every m ember must have completed the Hazardous Materials Transportation training course.

Set Runner Driver (all departments) refers to the member who:
Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 120 days, including a minimum of 90 days on more than one IATSE 514 production as a Department Set Runner Driver.

Driver refers to the members who:
Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 120 days, including a minimum of 90 days on more than one IATSE 514 production as a Driver.

Base Camp Technician refers to the members who:
Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 90 days on more than one IATSE 514 production as a Base Camp Technician.

Transportation department Regulations:

Under any circumstances should a Transportation Coordinator work without a Transportation Captain on any IATSE 514 productions.

All drivers must keep a personal logbook during his/her working hours.

The Obligations of Heavy Vehicle Users (OHVU) training course is a prerequisite for the training course on managing the Act Respecting Owners, Operators and Drivers of Heavy Vehicles (430).
