Hairdressing

Functions we represent:

Basic classification and reclassification criteria for all functions of the department:

 

  1. Every candidate should submit a mandatory hairdressing degree accredited by the government.
  2. A five-year experience in a hairdressing salon with references.
  3. High school diploma (minimum) issued by the government, or its equivalent.
  4. Mandatory certifications and trainings:
    • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED (Level C)
    • WHMIS 2015
    • Criminal liability for occupational health and safety
    • Respect, civility and prevention of harassment in the workplace (QUEBEC)
    • Respiratory protection
  5. For each function aforementioned, a documented work equivalence will be analyzed and considered, and subject to approval by the membership committee. Also, skills for which the candidate submits a certification will be considered; likewise, technical skills that can be validated by a diploma.

Classification and reclassification criteria for each function:

Head of department refers to a member who:
1- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 120 days on IATSE projects and on more than one production. A maximum of 45 days on AQTIS will be accepted.
2- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
3- Has completed the IATSE 514 harassment training program.

Assistant head of department refers to a member who:
1- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 90 days on IATSE projects and on more than one production. A maximum of 35 days on AQTIS projects will be accepted.
2- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
3- Has completed the IATSE 514 harassment training program.

Head hairdresser – Extras refers to a member who:
1- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 90 days on IATSE projects and on more than one production. A maximum of 35 days on AQTIS projects will be accepted.
2- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
3- Has completed the IATSE 514 harassment training program.

Hairdresser refers to a member who:
1- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 90 days on IATSE projects and on more than one production. A maximum of 50 days on AQTIS projects will be accepted.
2- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
3- Has completed the IATSE 514 harassment training program.

Assistant hairdresser refers to a member who:
1- Can demonstrate a work experience of at least 90 days on IATSE projects and on more than one production. A maximum of 50 days on AQTIS projects will be accepted.
2- Has completed a training course on Criminal liability for occupational health and safety.
3- Has completed the IATSE 514 harassment training program.
